Q&A with #TrueBlood: Live from the Set

Share

  • Q

For Anna Paquin : Sookie has a lot of action scenes. Do you do any of your own stunts? Thanks.

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

We used to do a bit more, but we're old now, and not very fit... Now we get other people to do that and we stay in our trailer. Stephen: I've not very strong inner thighs.

  • Q

(For all cast members) Without giving too much away is there any scenes in Season Six that made you cry in real life?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

This is a season that takes its toll on the humans for sure.

  • Q

For Rutina : After playing a human for the most part of the series, how fun was it to get to play the part of a vampire? Thanks.

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Rutina Wesley: Playing a vampire has been awesome! It's been nice to re-create Tara in a sense and be challenged with new material. I'm having a ball!

  • Q

For Alex: 1st Season Eric was evil, then amnesia Eric wasn't - do you think THIS SEASON's Eric is a nice mix of the both, or more evil?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Alexander Skarsgard: I'd say the old Eric is pretty much back. But the Amnesia changed him fundamentally, and he'll always carry that experience within.

  • Q

Kristin, Do you ever feel emotionally exhausted after playing Pam all day, and if so how do you get back into zen Kristin mode?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Kristin Bauer van Straten: I need a bit of time after a day to come down and relax. There is an adrenaline to being in front of the camera performing that does take a toll on the body. It usually takes me a couple hours to get to sleep after a day of Pam, even at the end of a 14 hour day.

  • Q

Andy was it fun to work with babies after having to play a grump for so long?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Chris Bauer: I don't just play a grump on tv. I AM one. I was warned by a very wise acting teacher that working with babies was like working with pick-pockets; they steal everything. However, the babies who played my kids were true pros, and they let me shine in more than a few scenes.

  • Q

Alexander, if you had complete control over what Eric said and did, what would you have him do?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Alexander Skarsgard: Eric goes undercover in a scene in episode 602. Had a blast shooting that. So I'd say more undercover Eric. Maybe as an old lady. Kinda like Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie, sweet and charming. But then eventually he'll rip some poor guy apart, of course...

  • Q

What has been your favourite storyline in the show so far?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Sam Trammell: My favorite storyline was when Tommy got sick and shifted into me. He was a great character to do for me as an actor.

  • Q

For Todd, Chris Bauer, and Ryan: As the three "normal" human men in BT, do you feel jealous that the other guys get to play supes?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

    Todd Lowe: Yup.

  • Q

For Rutina and Anna: Has the dynamic between Sookie and Tara gotten less tense this season and more to the way they used to be?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Rutina Wesley: Well you'll have to watch and see but I think they will be best friends forever and Tara will hopefully come around and forgive Sookie who was only trying to save her.

  • Q

For Nelsan, how do you think Lafayette has grown as a character in the past 6 seasons?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Nelsan Ellis: He went from non-supernatural to someone very supernatural. I think he’s trying to figure out how to be in the world where he was hustler and now he’s a witch. I think it’s a big thing for him, where now he’s a supernatural creature with everyone else. He used to be a stripper and prostitute.

  • Q

Nelsan & Rutina: I LOVE the friendship of Tara and Lafayette! I love both of your characters! :) What was the favorite scene that you shooted together?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Rutina Wesley: I think my favorite scene to shoot with Nelsan was during first season. We were in Merlotte's at their bar and he approached me asking what I was doing there. I replied "I work here you ugly bitch and you need to make peace with that." It was one of the first scenes I shot and Nelsan and I went to school together so it was nice to be on a new job working with someone I knew. Took some of the nerves away.

  • Q

To Nelsan, will Lafayette learn to control his inner demon?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Nelsan Ellis: No, because his inner demon is not his own-- it was forced upon him by the witch the possession. There is no one like LaLa, can’t control his inner demon is cool.

  • Q

How do you get yourself in character before taping a episode do you have a routine you always do or do you like to mix it up?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Todd Lowe: Um. In response to the previous question by @true2bill, I get jealous of the supes, and then I don't exercise.

  • Q

Nelsan: Will Lafayette find love after Jesus, and will he embrace and learn about his supernatural abilities.

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

    Nelsan Ellis: Yes, he will.

  • Q

To All Cast: *IF* your character HAD to die, how would you want them to go out?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

    Nelsan Ellis: During sex.

  • Q

Chris: How is Andy's fathering skills?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Chris Bauer: Andy is scared of everything, especially raising kids. But love conquers all and is a great teacher. Those babies really open his heart, and he's just smart enough to let love lead the way.

  • Q

Alex: How has your military training helped you and the cast when performing some of the more intense action scenes?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Alexander Skarsgard: What I went through in the Navy was a walk in the park compared to hanging in a tight harness from the rafters like a giant baby for 12 hours.

  • Q

For Kristin: I know you can't give away all the bloody details, but can we expect from Pam this season (besides a fierce wardrobe)?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Kristin Bauer van Straten: Lots of fierceness... and also insecurities... as the world that Pam thrives in is going away. She likes to break the law below the radar, and not get caught. This year, Vampires are out numbered, the humans have weapons and are pissed, which endangers everything she holds dear.

  • Q

@Kristin What is it like to create the role of Pam everyday you arrive on set?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Kristin Bauer van Straten: It's created by the writers, costumer, hair and mu and then I arrive on set and get to say these lines to great actors with great directors. Acting is a collaborative art and that is what I love about it. Especially in this situation where the people I collaborate with are so wonderful and generous. My favorite part of this job is being on the set, making something art with my friends.

  • Q

For the cast: what's been your most bizarre fan interactions?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Kristin Bauer van Straten: Well...most fans are very sweet and I am so thankful we have them! There have been a few who I think genuinely wanted me to "suck their blood" and ah... I did not.

  • Q

Alex: what is your favorite episode and why?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Alexander Skarsgard: I loved shooting the first flashback in season 2. To shoot a Viking scene (in Swedish) in Simi Valley, California felt pretty surreal. No one behind the camera understood a word so I could've said anything I wanted. Probably should've taken more advantage of that...

  • Q

Kristin & Alex: Would you want to do a spin off of flashbacks between Eric and Pam?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Kristin Bauer van Straten: I'd do that for no pay in my living room with Alex for the next 20 years. I should be so lucky.

  • Q

What does the Tru Blood taste like? What is it made of?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

The Tru Blood drink is a sort of orangy syrupy soda. I like it, but couldn't drink too many of them. Would give me a tummy ache.

  • Q

Do you think your character has evolved for better or for worst since the first season and why? (For all the members of the cast)

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Chris Bauer: I think Andy has evolved in the way we all should hope for. Pain has taught him compassion, failure has taught him patience, faith has brought him glimpses of serenity, and service has brought him purpose. It has definitely been my mission to slowly create a more dynamic and human Andy Bellefleur, and i can thank the True Blood writers for giving me the ingredients to the recipe.

  • Q

Which character who's been killed off that you could bring back if you could? why?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Sam Trammell: I'd love to be able to bring back Michael Raymond-James who played Rene Lenier in Season 1. He had such a good Cajun accent and southern feel. He really helped ground the show.

  • Q

For Todd and Carrie - after completion of the storyline with the demon will get a Bellefleur in new problems?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Todd Lowe: No. He's gonna be happy till the end of days. You think you're gonna fool me again, @TrickyGleek?

  • Q

In last season, Andy became a father. Did it spoil his relationship with Holly? Or strengthen? And will we see still Maurella?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Chris Bauer: Holly is very spiritually advanced, and forgiveness is a sign of spiritual evolution. I hope we see Maurella again. Who wouldn't? Have you seen Kristina Anapau? She's even more beautiful in person.

  • Q

Who does the best impression of other characters on True Blood?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Chris Bauer: Without a doubt the best mimic on our set, and in my opinion most underrated actor, is Sammy Trammell. If anyone wants to have a conversation with Alexander Skarsgard, and he can't be there, just have Sam imitate him instead. It's uncanny.

  • Q

If any of you could play someone else's who would it be and why?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Todd Lowe: Terry from season two, when he got to hook up with Arlene for the first time. But we should drink Starbucks or be on Battlestar Galactica. Thanx @starbuckschick7 !!!!

  • Q

Nobody lives forever... were there any scenes in the new season that made you stop and say... I totally didn't see that coming?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Todd Lowe: Yeah. Hell Yeah!. When Rutger Hauer showed up. And he wasn't the hitchhiker. Uh oh.

  • Q

For Rutina: Now that Tara sort of has her personal self straightened out, if so happened that a vampirism cure was found, would she take it?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

Rutina Wesley: You know, I actually think Tara might take it. She's still human at heart so to speak and not completely sold on the idea but she has no choice. She does enjoy the power and sense of confidence though.

  • Q

What is your favorite set to be on?

    Share

    A
#TrueBlood: Live from the Set says:

    Nelsan Ellis: Merlotte's.
