  • Q

Thanks to @ChrisCrocker for joining us for today’s Q&A. How do you feel about last night's #MEattheZOO premiere?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I am getting such an outpour from viewers who really connected with the raw intensity of it. It was phenomenal!

  • Q

When are you going to release a full music album?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

It is coming slowly but surely. it takes a bit longer when I am funding everything on my own, but I am recording new songs right now actually!

  • Q

You are so inspirational to me! I would love to meet you in person one day! how does it make you feel to know you inspire so many people?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I truthfully do it for my own theraputic reasons but having people connect with me is just an added bonus! I am so use to experiencing hatred that it's almost harder for me to know how to take compliments.. but thank you for your viewership and keep on keeping on!

  • Q

Would You Ever Consider Doing Another Documentary? And What Next For You Becides Music? Reality Show Maybe? Anthony In Connecticut!

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I have actually been thinking all month about what I want to shoot next. I am very interested in directing something now. I am admittedly a bit of a control freak, so I am ready to get behind of the camera again. As for being IN FRONT of the camera again, I am always up for that. Whether as my true self or acting, you haven't seen the last of me!

  • Q

What is your relationship like with your mom?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

My mother is like a light switch, in terms of her highs and lows. She will make progress and then plummet again. That is part of the territory with addicts. I try to be there for her as much as possible, yet emotionally disconnect when I feel she isn't being herself. I love her unconditionally. I try to seperate who she truly is from her addiction. She always wanted to be a singer/dancer when she was a kid. (She had me at 14)-- I am actually thinking of facilitating her dream for her in a way, because I do music.. So my next song, I think I may record as a duet with her. I just want her to experience some of what I feel she's missed out on in her teenage-hood and experience her dreams.

  • Q

I loved the doc last night! Did you ever think people would respond to your grandmother like they do? She's awesome!

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

My grandmother is a very powerful person. She is so self-unaware, yet SO self aware that she makes for an amazing comedian. Watching the documentary, I tell her 'PEOPLE LOVE YOU!' and she's like 'Why...?' -- Which makes her all the more lovable! I'll send her your love!

  • Q

Do you have any regrets after capturing so much of your life on video?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I have learned so much about myself and others and the industry.. and life in general from living my life publically, that I wouldn't trade it for anything. That doesn't mean I will do so going forward, but I do not regret having done so in the past.

  • Q

What has been the most challenging part of the infamy you've achieved?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

Walking into a room with people having a million ideas about what you are and what you're not... Having to constantly prove you are more than the cartoon you're perceived.. However, I try to use all of that against me as motivator.

  • Q

How does your hometown treat you now? Any differently?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

No one really recognizes me. Even since filming ended with the documentary, my appearance has changed greatly. I don't really get any problems now. It's interesting camoulflaging in with everyone else, when before.. I was nearly nailed to the cross daily and the only difference was skinnier jeans and blonde hair.

  • Q

Did you ever actually start filming for your reality show? and If you did..what happened to all the footage you did catch?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

We did film in LA and TN. World of Wonder (who does RuPaul's Drag Race, etc) shot it. They own the footage to this day.

  • Q

What gave you the strength to get through the bulling and all the hate you received?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I was tortured from the time I began school, in kindergarten. I guess I was just use to the hate in everyday life, that by the time I began videos.. dealing with the online hatred wasn't that big of a deal.

  • Q

If given the chance, would you accept another reality show deal? Do you think there's a chance of another one?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I never say never. If I did one, it would have to be done by the right people.

  • Q

Do you plan to continue filming your life and uploading it online? Do you ever think you'll grow out of doing so?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

Youtube isn't really my platform anymore. I don't identify with any Youtubers these days. I don't feel I've outgrown the site. I just feel it's a different website now that is difficult to be your 100% self without being censored. I will continue to create art, just in other formats as my MAIN outlet. IE: My music, etc.

  • Q

If you had the chance to spend the night with one person, celebrity, etc... who would it be? Why?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

Fiona Apple, without a doubt. She is my number one guiding light, as cheesy as that sounds. Her music is poetry, really.. and has saved me so many times from feeling alone. I love her.. and plus, she's shy like me in person and very humble.. and understands outsiders. I think we'd hit it off!

  • Q

You are my idol! I absolutley love you and how you brush of peoples horrid comments. How did you cope with bullying? Can you give me tips?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I love you too! The best tip i can give you is to find an OUTLET. If it's writing, if it's painting, if it's creating bracelets, if it's getting a hobby or an interest like Astrology. (Hell, I don't know!) Just get interested in something that makes you feel alive and ignites your passions. That's what I did when I was trapped in my room after I dropped out of school and got to know myself. Once you know every side of yourself, what others say can't hurt you because you will know what's true and what's not. You have to become a friend to yourself and learn to like yourself. That way when haters say negative comments, you will know they're just haters. :)

  • Q

what do you see yourself doing in 5 years, 10 years from now?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I don't know and I don't want to know. If I knew where I would be, I wouldn't want to be there because that would be boring. I just hope to continue following my muses and my passion and my intuition.

  • Q

Hi Chris. Which video of yours is your favorite?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I really like my batshit crazy videos. Marlene Monroe, the Walmart video. I like them all.

  • Q

Are the people at your grandparent's church still awful to you? Do your grandparents still attend?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

They go to a new church. I haven't spoken to the people who were awful to them from the previous church but I do know those people smear my name in mud and give Christianity a bad name.

  • Q

What was it like being in the Weezer video?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

Awesome! All of the guys were super chill and actually treated me as a peer and not some loser on set. Loved hanging with them.

  • Q

You seem so powerful and confident! How are you so strong and independent? What's the Thing that drives you, That you would defend with your life?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

When your confidence comes from a genuine place, and isn't reliant upon the public's adoration.. your confidence is real. Anyone can feel confident when the world loves them, but to be confident in the face of hatred is REAL confidence. You acquire resilience. What drives me is knowing I am here for a purpose.. and if that purpose is to be seen as a joke and only a certain amount of people getting what I actually do, SO BE IT. I just know I was put here to press buttons and expose hate.

  • Q

Do you love Lady Gaga? And if so whats your favorite song?((:

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I do love Lady Gaga. I think she's managed to stay grounded and connected and humble, from what I hear from mutual friends of hers. My favorite song by her is Paparazzi!

  • Q

What has been your greatest challenge, and what did you learn from it?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

The greatest challenge has been (predictibly) showing people that I am more than a crying lunatic.. and that the 'Leave Britney Alone' video was from an honest place, but JUST BECAUSE I was serious in that video does not mean I don't ALSO have a sense of humor. The biggest challenge has been showing the world you can be more than just one thing. You can be multidimensional. You can cry, you can laugh, you can make OTHER people cry and laugh. You can be sincere AND a basketcase comedian.

  • Q

You have said that you have gotten a lot of hate from the LGBT community. Do you think what you do impacts the gay community in any way?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I think it would be stupid if I said 'What I do impacts the gay community', but I do get a lot of people writing me telling me I impart confidence to them in everyday life. They see the thousands of hateful comments I get, yet I continue on. I don't consider myself a rolemodel. I just consider myself a strong bitch that does what I want to do.

  • Q

That's all the time we have for today's Q&A. A huge thank you to Chris Crocker for joining us. Anything else you'd like to say, Chris?

    Share

    A
    Chris Crocker says:

I would just like to thank everyone who has kept up with me all of these years. Each and every one of you are beautiful people and TRUE supporters. You support someone who is written off as a 15 minutes of fame loser and see that there is MORE to me, and for that.. I thank you infinitely. Thank you for just giving me the chance to be heard.. and all of you keep on keeping on, and NEVER back down in the face of hatred. Thank you!
